My name is Pete Dohrenwend and I am a certified flight instructor. I have 20+ years as a middle school science teacher at international schools in Egypt, Pakistan and Japan. I am merging my skills as a classroom teacher with my skills as an instrument rated pilot to TEACH others how to fly single engine airplanes. 

My first experience with aviation was in the backseat of a Cessna 172M as a kid flying over New England. My Dad was a Private Pilot and from Birth to 12 years old, we flew as a family to MonaTauk, Block Island, vermont, Quebec, Florida and other places for family adventures. After moving Back to the States from My teaching Career overseas, I finally acted on my Childhood dream of learning to Fly.

Some of my earliest memories are seeing lakes, rivers, and swimming pools from the air in the 1980’s, which I called “Blue Spots”. I now call Marquette, MICHIGAN home and Lake Superior is my current and favorite “Blue Spot”.
